Harkness Screens™, the world’s leading manufacturer of large projection screens, has successfully installed 8 screens at TOHO Cinemas, – one of Japan’s leading film, theatre production, and distribution company located at Sendai, Japan. The soon to be opened multiplex has 9 screens available of which 8 TCX screens including its flagship Clarus XC have been installed by Harkness Screens alone.
Considered to be a revolutionary offering by Harkness Screens, the Clarus XC is known to maintain greater uniformity of light and improve colour thereby enhancing the overall projection, cinema presentation and experience. This silver screen is known to have a smoother surface finish and deeper visual perspective for 3D content.
“Last year, we installed Clarus 1.7 in our theatre for the first time. The new Clarus Screen was well received by our customers, providing us with excellent image quality for our TCX Screen at TOHO Cinemas, Umeda, and leading to our decision to install another Clarus Screen at our new theatre, TOHO Cinemas Sendai.” says Mr. Shunichi Kobayashi, Development and Construction Director, TOHO Cinemas Ltd.
Adding to this, Preetham Daniel, Senior Vice President – Asia said, “The current installation has been one of the many in the recent past in Japan and each one of them has been rewarding. Clarus is recognized for its superior quality and standards. It works exceptionally well on Premium Large Formats and flagship Gold Class Auditoriums considering its unique feature of light uniformity. Owing to its performance, there has been an increase in demand for the Clarus screen.”
The installation of the screens had been undertaken by Xebex Inc, a part of Ushio group. Cinema enthusiasts can enjoy the Clarus, IMAX and Dolby Atoms experience along with the luxury seating facility available at TOHO Cinemas, Sendai.
