20th Century Fox to Release "Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates" on July 8, 2016
Zac Efron, Anna Kendrick and Adam DeVine will receive the “CinemaCon Comedy Stars of the Year Award,” it was announced today by Mitch Neuhauser, Managing Director of CinemaCon. CinemaCon, the official convention of The National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO) will be held April 11-14, 2016 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Efron, Kendrick and DeVine will be presented with this special honor at the “CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards” ceremony taking place on the evening of Thursday, April 14, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, hosted by the Coca-Cola Company, the official presenting sponsor of CinemaCon.
“It doesn’t get any better than being able to honor three incredibly talented comedic actors and CinemaCon delegates will be in for a great time this year when we single out Zac, Anna and Adam,” noted Neuhauser. “With impressive careers already on the big and small screen, our 2016 Comedy Stars of the Year are sure to have audiences in stitches this summer when “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” hits our theaters.”
This summer Efron, Kendrick and DeVine can be seen starring together in the 20th Century Fox’s “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates,” out on July 8, 2016. Hard-partying brothers Mike (Adam Devine) and Dave (Zac Efron) place an online ad to find the perfect dates (Anna Kendrick, Aubrey Plaza) for their sister’s Hawaiian wedding. Hoping for a wild getaway, the boys instead find themselves outsmarted and out-partied by the uncontrollable duo.
Efron became a household name with the launch of the 2006 Emmy Award-winning Disney Channel phenomenon “High School Musical.” Zac will soon be seen in “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising,” the highly anticipated sequel to the comedy “Neighbors,” for which he will reprise his role as “Teddy” alongside Seth Rogen, Dave Franco and Rose Byrne. He is currently filming “Baywatch,” a comedy based off the popular TV show, opposite Dwayne Johnson and recently wrapped production on “The Disaster Artist,” a dramedy about the making of Tommy Wiseau’s “The Room.” Most recently, Zac starred opposite Robert De Niro in “Dirty Grandpa,” in Max Joseph’s “We Are Your Friends” and in the romantic comedy “That Awkward Moment,” in which Zac also served as a producer on the film under his Ninjas Runnin’ Wild banner. Additional film credits include the historical drama “Parkland,” “At Any Price,” Ramin Bahrani’s independent drama, Lee Daniels’ “The Paperboy,” “Liberal Arts,” an independent film written and directed by Josh Radnor, “The Lucky One,” “Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax,” Gary Marshall’s “New Year’s Eve” “Charlie St. Cloud,” “17 Again,” the Richard Linklater film “Me and Orson Welles,” and the box office smash summer film “Hairspray.”
Since making her feature film debut in 2003’s “The Camp,” for which she earned an Independent Spirit Award nomination, Kendrick has gone on to appear in such memorable films as “Twilight,” “Up In The Air,” for which she earned an Academy Award nomination, The Twilight Sagas: “New Moon” “Eclipse, and “Break Dawn—Part 1,” “End of Watch,” “Pitch Perfect,” Pitch Perfect 2” and “Into The Woods.” In addition to “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates,” Kendrick can be seen later this year starring alongside Ben Affleck in “The Accountant,” in the comedy “Table 19,” alongside John Krasinski in “The Hollers,” and the animated music filled comedy “Trolls,” also starring Justin Timberlake.
Best known as a co-creator, writer and star of the hit Comedy Central show “Workaholics” DeVine first broke out on the big screen starring in “Pitch Perfect” as Bumper Allen, leader of the all-male campus singing champions. Since then he has reprised his role starring in “Pitch Perfect 2,” appeared alongside Anne Hathaway and Robert DeNiro in “The Intern,” and opposite Nina Dobrev and Thomas Middleditch in “Final Girls.” On the small screen DeVine has appeared on such shows as “Frank TV,” “Better Off Ted,” “Samantha Who?,” and can currently be seen in his recurring guest starring role on “Modern Family.”
