AMC Theatres Launches Collectible Screenprint Program Featuring Internationally Renowned Artists and Collectible Prints Exclusively for AMC Theatres

AMC Theatres expands its merchandise program in unique and exciting ways, by offering the limited-edition, high-end collectible screenprint

The first screenprint in the program is a limited-edition Oliver Barrett-designed piece called “Lucius Spin Attack,” inspired by Paramount Pictures’ "Gladiator II"

LEAWOOD, KANSAS ( November 14, 2024 ) -

AMC Theatres (NYSE:AMC), the largest theatrical exhibitor in the United States and the world, today announced it is launching a new collectible, high-end screenprint program, further diversifying a merchandise program that generated $54 million in revenue in 2023.

As AMC looks to expand its compelling and competitive merchandise program in unique and exciting ways, it is extending its offers into the limited-edition, high-end collectible screenprint space. This new program features internationally renowned artists creating new limited edition screenprints exclusively for AMC Theatres, for a variety of theatrical titles in 2024 and 2025.

“There is a growing demand among AMC guests and die-hard fans for high-end, collectible screenprints,” said Rob Bennett, Director, AMC Food & Beverage Product Strategy. “We’re excited to offer these beautiful pieces of limited edition art for movie fans and collectors alike. This is a natural extension of the already popular merchandise we offer every day.”

The first offering, in collaboration with Popcore and Paramount Pictures, is an exclusive screen print from premiere artist Oliver Barrett, a multiple CLIO Award winner who is well regarded in the world of collectible art, with clients ranging from The Academy Awards and Apple to Nike and Hasbro. The inaugural piece celebrates the release of “Gladiator II,” and showcases the gritty “Lucius spin attack” screenprint Barrett created for the film. It features metallic red ink accents on the swords, cleverly revealing the faces of the dual emperors in the blood patterns.

“Art-driven movie prints deserve to be appreciated and owned by a wider audience,” said Barrett. “AMC Theatres offers a huge platform for sharing this kind of hand-drawn art, produced through traditional screen-printing methods.”

The limited-edition, high-end posters are on sale exclusively at amctheatresshop.com now, but only for a limited time. After a short open-to-buy pre-order period, the ordered quantity will be printed and shipped directly to customers in the spring of 2025, and no more orders will be taken, making these items highly sought after and collectible.

These fully licensed screenprints feature the high quality that fans and collectors demand: hand numbering, limited or timed editions, hand pulled screens, archival 24”x36” size paper and more. Some, like “Gladiator II,” also have innovative sustainable features like low emitting VOC waterbased inks, double filtration to minimize water run-off, and low electricity wax-writer screens that eliminate the use of plastics in the traditional screen printing process.
